Grand Reopening
Our building renovation is complete! The public is invited to three days of free events to help us celebrate. Browse exhibits, enjoy a film festival, and shop from Native artists.

Cuumillapet—Our Ancestors
In 1818, a Russian artist painted portraits of Aluti/Sugpiaqq ancestors. In 2022, Sugpiaq artist Cheryl Lacy reimagined the paintings, adding landscapes and bright colors.

Exhibit Hall
Our exhibits tell the Alutiiq/Sugpiaq story, from the deep past to the present. Explore ancestry, harvesting, communities, spirituality, colonialism, and the cultural renaissance in our new exhibit hall.

Building Mural
Todd Metrokin’s dramatic mural is displayed on the outside of our new addition. It fuses ancestral and contemporary images to highlight the vibrancy of Alutiiq traditions.

Events
We host a variety of events from arts workshops and language lessons to lectures on recent research and a monthly cultural orientation that is available in person or online.
